Lenagene Waldrup's Marbling Arts Workshop

Who? Adults (ages 16 +) (limited to 10 people)
What? Marbling Arts Workshop - Marbling is an ancient decorative printmaking technique and no two prints are alike. Thinned paints are floated on a thickened water surface and teased into patterns. These patterns can be picked up on paper, fabric, and other treated surfaces. Marbling is fun, easy, and like magic! No artistic talent is necessary. The fluid nature of this artform is amazingly restful if stress is an issue in your life. You’ll produce breathtaking papers from the very beginning. After creating beautiful papers, you will learn to use these papers for cards, books, origami, scrapbooking, and useful items for personal use and enjoyment and gifts. For those interested; time will be spent marbling fabric, especially suitable for silk scarves and original quilting fabric. Resources for materials will be discussed so that participants may continue marbling at home. Instructions will be given and time set aside for the creation of paste papers and suminagashi for those who want to pursue these additional art forms. When? 9 a.m. till 2 p.m.—April 10th, 11th, 12th, 2007
Where? Clarence and Milton Smith Agricultural Building—Enter and Park in Rear
